Liverpool trio The Wombats' debut album, A Guide to Love, Loss and Desparation, was released in 2007. It, in my opinion, and I stress my opinion, is a great album full of fun songs about lead singer Matthew Murphy's troubles, funny stories and just life in general. The songs on there are pretty well written and produced but the recording gets a bit fuzzy when the songs have thick bits and in some songs I just find the riffs unoriginal and ... just not the best. But the good ones like 'Let's Dance to Joy Division', 'Kill the Director' and 'Moving to New York' make up for it. The other good songs on there include 'My First Wedding' and 'Party in a Forest'.
